World War 2: A view from Russia (on demand)

Join Victoria to take a look at the history of World War 2 from the perspective of the USSR based on authentic video materials.  The session lasts 2 hours and can be scheduled to suit you and you can participate individually, or as a small group of 2 or 3 friends at the same level.

Based around short videos and discussion, the session will look at the differences in the way in which the key stages of the war and its aftermath were viewed in the Soviet Union and the West.

This session is for A2 or B1 level students.  If you’re unsure of your level please email lucy@russiancentre.co.uk

A2 TRKI mock exam

Mock tests can be ordered individually, or the written tests can be ordered as a complete set of four tests at a discounted price. The four written tests (grammar/vocabulary; reading; writing; and listening) are done by you independently and returned to us for marking. The mock speaking test is done online via Zoom with a qualified examiner and includes detailed feedback.

A2 mini-module: Мир, в котором я живу

Our self-study mini-modules are based around the popular and funny Russian TV series «Ералаш». Add a new component to your language-learning, study at your own pace – and have fun! This module is aimed at students at A2 level – you should have mastered all cases for singular nouns and have a general idea about verb aspect and basic verbs of motion. The modules focus on listening, understanding and writing. You’ll be introduced to the new vocabulary you’ll need first, watch the video and then check your listening comprehension with a short quiz. You then have the option to submit a written piece of work for personalised feedback. When you buy your module(s) you’ll get 60 days’ access to the materials, which you can complete whenever and as often as you’d like.
