Russian Through Film: «Ирония Судьбы» (on demand)

«Ирония судьбы, или С лёгким паром!» (The Irony of Fate, or Enjoy Your Bath!) is still regularly watched and enjoyed over the New Year period. Join Victoria to find out why it is still so popular! 

The first session will look at excerpts from the film, examine the background and context, and introduce key themes and vocabulary. Between sessions, your task will be to watch the full film. The second session will then give you the chance to discuss what you’ve seen and test how well you have understood it.

The course comprises two 1.5-hour sessions which will be scheduled to suit you and you can participate individually, or as a small group of 2 or 3 friends at the same level.

Russian Through Film: Piter FM (on demand)

If you’ve ever wondered whether you’re really ready to watch a film in the original Russian, now is the time to find out! Join Victoria to watch and discuss one of the happiest Russian films  – a 2006 romantic comedy Piter FM.

You’ll find yourself transported to Saint Petersburg at its most magical time of summer –  “white nights” where old buildings can talk to people.

The course comprises two 1.5-hour sessions over zoom with Victoria, with homework set in between. The sessions will be scheduled to suit you and you can participate individually, or as a small group of 2 or 3 friends at the same level.
