Burnt by the Sun  won the Oscar for Best Foreign film, the Grand Prix at the 1994 Cannes Film Festival, The Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film and other honours.

The events take place in the final days of peace before World War II. The movie unfolds a historical drama that raises eternal questions of moral choice, loyalty, the meaning of life, and love.
