Russian through film: Намедни 1990-e

Interested in Soviet history? Find out more about Russia in the 1990s by watching excerpts from the popular documentary film series «Намедни», and then discuss in a small friendly group.

The first lesson will look at excerpts from the documentary series, examine the background and context, and introduce key themes and vocabulary.

During the week between lessons, your task will be to watch further episodes. The second lesson will then give you the chance to discuss what you’ve seen and test how well you have understood it.
